PRECISION PRINTING

The front of Quantum High is born in layers. Using advanced 3D printing, a fine polyamide powder is spread in measured sheets, each sintered by a laser with pinpoint accuracy. Back and forth, the process repeats, building from out of hundreds of layers until the shape emerges. What begins as dust becomes structure: a precisely crafted front, ready for what follows.

SMOOTHING THE SURFACE

After printing, the Quantum High fronts are refined through a series of finishing rituals. Ceramic chips tumble across the frame, softening rough edges and evening out the texture. Then comes a fine particle blast, a final sweep that perfects the surface and prepares it for color. What remains is a front both sleek and ready, its precision now matched by its touch.

COLORING & PROTECTIVE COATING

Color brings the Quantum High front to life. Through a specialised dyeing process, pigment is absorbed directly into the polyamide itself. Unlike surface coatings, this method creates depth and permanence, ensuring a finish that is both vibrant and consistent. The result is color that lasts, enriching the frame without compromising its strength.

The finish is sealed with a clear coating, the final touch in the making of Quantum High. This transparent layer locks in the color, lends a gentle sheen to the surface, and adds essential UV protection. It ensures that each frame keeps its character intact, preserving both its look and performance over time.

BETA TITANIUM

Every story at Ørgreen begins with titanium. A metal both light and unyielding, unassuming in appearance, yet extraordinary in its potential. For us, it is more than material; it is the foundation of a language: precise, modern, quietly radical.

Quantum High takes this further. While the fronts are crafted in polyamide, it is the temples that visually and structurally guarantee strength. Forged in Beta Titanium, an alloy of 75% pure titanium with subtle additions of vanadium, aluminium and tin, they acquire a rare quality: flexibility and memory. The temple bends and returns, holds its line, and keeps its poise after countless wears.

The result is not simply a slender temple, but a statement of resilience: light on the face, enduring in form.

SHAPING THE TEMPLE

In Quantum High, the wire temple tells its own story. It begins with a single 1.2 mm strand of Beta Titanium, expertly bent into a precise hook and neck. Thanks to the material’s exceptional flexibility and memory, the wire can be shaped with care while always returning to its original form. The result is a temple defined by accuracy and resilience, delivering lasting comfort with understated elegance.

CRAFTING THE FLAT TEMPLES

Another expression of Quantum High lies in the flat temple. Cut from 0.8 mm sheets of Beta Titanium, each piece is CNC-milled with absolute precision. The front section then undergoes a sequence of measured bends, forming a hook and neck with accuracy. What emerges is a temple of subtle strength: slim in profile, assured in fit, and made to endure with ease.

SMOOTHING THE TEMPLES

Before a temple reaches the face, it passes through stone. Tiny tumbling pebbles polish the Beta Titanium, easing away burrs and softening every edge. The process leaves the surface smooth to the touch, without losing the metal’s quiet strength or its refined, almost silken appearance.

TEMPLE COLORING PROCESS

The temple coloring process is carried out in a carefully climate-controlled environment. Once the temples are thoroughly cleaned, they undergo a light sandblasting treatment to create a subtle micro-abrasion on the surface. Each temple is then meticulously hand-painted with color and finished with a matte coating, enhancing and bringing the color story to life.

ASSEMBLY

With its surface perfected and protected, the Quantum High front is prepared and packaged for shipment to Copenhagen. There, it meets the hand-finished Beta Titanium temples. In our Copenhagen workshop, the fronts and temples are finally assembled, uniting precision engineering with the quiet craftsmanship that defines Ørgreen.
